Bon Jour PLUGers,

I have a problem with this yahoo Webcam.

Is there a remote way to enable YM webcam using a proxy or socks server.

I have just tried dante's sock server and it didn't work. I hope there
is that work.

I have a boss here that has been jumping from
network/site/location/cities to another network/site/location/cities
such that I can't define an IP to allow his laptop to always pass the
router ACLs.

I was hoping that...

Maybe I can configure a service to enable YM's webcam to be
proxy/sock'ed/NATed as he need to "talks" to some poeple in NY "live
as possible" to update them of the situation here in our place.

Silly but that's what he want and I'm just another person relying on
his signature to get extended hehe

Can YM function in a NATed and or SNAT network? Has anybody tried it?

Thanks

No.

You _NEED_ to have a direct connection to the YM servers. I'm not sure
if you could set up a tunnel that would do this just fine though.

Pre, how do I go about this, I already have a proxy server who can pass the
router without a problem, do I just setup a tunnel link between the proxy
server and his laptop so that he can pass through the tunnel and end up in
the proxy server

but the proxy server is still inside the router's militarized zone list and
only the Proxy server IP can pass. can the tunneled webcam packet pass
through the router? angulo ko ba? hehe

Or do I have to setup a server on the other side of the router?

I've used YM in a NAT environment...dial up to server in the office
using private IP, NAT to internet via gateway, and it works.
video and all. but of course, video on dial up is excruciatingly
slow...1/5 fps thereabouts.

Really, but my linux server is also inside and is not configured to have one
side (lancard) to be exposed. Can you still do NATed on that? I think the
concept of NAT is to have one side on one network and the other side on the
other network. This is really getting nuts. but I'll still try thou
